A stacker fills the gap between a pallet truck and a forklift: you move pallets and also place them at height, on a level floor and in little space. For high-bay racking in narrow aisles there is the reach truck.

How much does your heaviest pallet weigh? Please note: at height, the safe lifting capacity (the residual capacity) is lower than the rated load capacity.
How high is the highest beam or the mezzanine floor? That determines the mast and therefore the model.
Over short distances you walk along. In a larger warehouse, a stacker with a ride-on platform is faster and less tiring.
How wide are the aisles and where does the stacker need to turn? There are compact models for tight spaces.
A stacker is made for a level, hard-surfaced floor. For a yard or uneven ground, choose a forklift.
Is there a charging point? You can top up lithium-ion in between; with other batteries, you plan in the charging time.

For short distances and occasional stacking, a pedestrian stacker is sufficient. If you also cover distance in a larger warehouse, a ride-on stacker is faster: the operator rides along on the platform.
