Choose the right drive for winter work (diesel, LPG, or electric)
In winter, substrate and placement (indoor/outdoor) make the difference. This is the most practical choice per situation:
- Lots of outdoors + rough terrain often choose Rent diesel forklift (traction, torque, robust).
- Indoor/outdoor mixed Rent an LPG forklift is flexible and quick to refuel.
- Hard ground + (partially) indoors: electric forklift rental (still, clean; note charging strategy in cold).

2) Tire Choice: The Winter Factor for Grip (and Less Damage)
Most winter problems start with too little grip (wet bricks, mud, slopes, ramps).
- Profile tires better traction on outdoor work and uneven terrain.
- Pneumatic tires Extra damping/comfort on rough terrain.
- Rubber compound Strong on paved surfaces, less prone to punctures (but can feel “harder” on cobblestones).
3) Cabin & Visibility: In winter, comfort is also safety
Foggy windows, cold hands, and wet clothes make drivers slower and less alert. A (semi)cabin with good defogging and lighting helps immediately.
4) Lighting & signaling: winter = dark early
- Extra work lights at docks, crossings, and loading docks.
- Blue spot / red zone on pedestrian routes (especially in rain/fog).
- Routes & Marking Winterproof (salt, ice, visibility).
5) Charging/refueling in Kou: prevent downtime
Electric remains top for indoor and paved terrain, but a smart charging strategy is important in the cold (especially with multiple shifts).
